

Brutus Beefcake co-Held the WWF Tag-Team Titles with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine in 1986. His career began to sky-rocket in 1990 when tragedy struck. He went out for a walk on the beach in Tampa, Florida. As he was walking, an out-of-control parasailor hit him full force in the face with his knees, knocking him into the water and nearly drowning him, he was rescued, but the bones in his face were shattered and his face was literally "Caving In", he went under Emergency Surgery at Tampa's Shriner's Hospital and went under over 9 hours of successful reconstructive surgery. Metal plates and screws were used to reconstruct the shape of his face. He stayed out of the ring for over 2 1/2 Years and returned to action for 2 matches, one of which was with Hulk Hogan as they took on the WWF Tag-Team Champions Money Inc. (Ted DiBiase & Mike "I.R.S." Rotundo.
Beefcake left the WWF and followed Hogan to WCW in 1994 and still wrestles today as Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake in regional promotions. |
